Chapter 1: Hero's Mountain
Link, Zelda, Talio the fairy and Captain Skull Keeta stood at the base of Hero’s Mountain. This mountain represented their final challenge in defeating Ganondorf. They had collected seven of the eight parts of the Key Crystal.
“Well,” Keeta said. “Let’s go.”
Keeta was the leader of a band of rebel demons that Ganondorf had created when he came to the land of Conco to seize the power of the Demon’s Crystal and take over. Fortunately the creation of his own demons failed and his creations now fought against him.
“But how do we open the gate to the mountain?” Talio asked.
“I don’t know. I thought you were supposed to be the expert on the land.” Keeta replied.
“Maybe there’s a switch behind this block.” Link said.
Link and Zelda began pushing the block off the mountain’s ledge. The first thing that was uncovered was a Hookshot point. This would allow Link to use his Hookshot to get back on the mountain of they ever needed to leave. They continued pushing and they uncovered a small area in the shape of a crystal with a piece missing.
“Link! Put the pieces of the Key Crystal that we already have in the slot!” Zelda said.
Link put in the seven pieces of the Key Crystal in the slot and the gate covering the entrance to the mountain disappeared.
Cheering the team made their way inside the mountain. But instead of walking onto the mountain they were in a cave. A few seconds later a giant bat came flying from the top of the cave.
“Keese King” Talio observed. “Its weak point is its mouth and it hates light.”
“Right” said Link and pulled his sword out of sheath.
“Hey you don’t get all the fun” said Zelda and pulled out her bow.
The giant Keese began to attack with miniature Keese. Skull Keeta took care of these with his Flame Sword and his crossbow.
When his wave of attackers were defeated the Keese King landed and began jumping up and down making shock waves on the ground. When the monster was in the air Link launched a bomb underneath him and when the Keese King landed he was damaged and knocked out. Zelda used this time to shoot a Light Arrow in this mouth. This caused the King much pain. After they repeated this three times, Keeta finished him off with his Skull Hammer.
With the Keese King Defeated they were able to explore the rest of the mountain. It took a long time but they finally reached the entrance to the Ice Cavern. But two Soldiers guarded it. Link used his Force Jump attack to cut down on the Solders armor the hit them with his sword. Then Skull Keeta smashed through the snow blocking the entrance with his hammer. Finally the team sidled into the fissure that led into the icy depths of the mountain.

Chapter 2: Ice Cavern
Once Link, Zelda, Keeta and Talio were in the Ice Cavern they were immediately attacked by three statues that seemed to be made out of ice.
“Freezards” said Talio. “Obvious what there weakness is.”
“Allow me to take care of them.” Keeta said. He pulled out his crossbow, stringed an arrow and used some of the group’s magic power to create two Fire Arrows. The Freezards instantly melted.
“Now let’s explore” said Zelda.
They soon found out that exploring a dungeon together was difficult when never they came to an area where they had to choose they always fought. But Talio didn’t fight. The fighting drove him nuts.
“Would you three shut up!” Talio yelled during the fourth fight. “We should choose a leader. And since Link is the most experienced I think he should be our leader.”
“Huh?” exclaimed Link. “The fairy is right.” Keeta replied. “We will follow you lead Link. You’ve had more experience with exploring.”
With that Link led them through the Cavern. They faced Freezards, Solders and Ice Keese. But their first real surprise came in a giant room with ice blocks everywhere and in some parts of the room the ice had become so hard it was now a permanent part of the room.
“Everyone listen to me.” said Link. He told Zelda and Keeta a plan and went to work with each of them pushing around a block they made a successful bridge over the pit at one end of the room. When they walked across it a huge tentacle that had come down from the ceiling grabbed Zelda, who yelled to get the boys’ attention. Link and Keeta made a grab for her but the tentacle was too fast. Talio, being a fairy, was the only one who could fly but he could not fly to far away from Link.
Keeta was looking up at the hole in the ceiling “Link! There’s a bit of wood sticking out of the ceiling! D’you think your Hookshot would attach to that?”
“Of course it would” Link grabbed Keeta’s wrist with one hand and aimed his Hookshot at the piece of wood. When the Hookshot’s point stuck in the wood Link and Keeta were pulled up to the next floor. An attack of ice was shot and the hole in the floor was covered up. Link and Keeta turned and face a giant flying squid.
“Talio what is that thing?” Link asked as he dodged a blast of ice.
“I thought you of all people would recognize an Octorok when you see one. This one’s weakness is the little bulbs on the edge of its tentacles but you’ll never get close enough to it to attack.”
As Talio finished saying this Keeta fired a Fire Arrow at it. Nothing happened. Link tried his Hookshot on the bulbs because it could also bring stuff to him. The Hookshot worked and pulled a bulb to him. But when he slashed it with his sword it almost bounced it back to the Octorok. But Keeta shot it with an arrow and it exploded. They repeated this for the remaining bulbs and the Octorok was defeated.
“Thanks.” Zelda said when she appeared.
Suddenly two chests appeared. Link went to open them. Inside he found the Boss Key. This would allow them to fight the Evil at the end of the dungeon. The other chest held the Extend Sword. This item would extend when swung and this would go at enemies’ hearts.
A few block puzzles later the group stood at the Boss Door. Link put the Key in the lock and they went inside. A ladder was in the room. Link went first then Zelda then Keeta.
Terror Freezer, a giant pterodactyl of ice, was flying around the top of the mountain.
“Only explosive ice can bring it down.” Talio said. “Then it’s vulnerable to heat.”
Terror Freezer began shooting ice pellets that exploded after a few seconds on the ground. If Link was fast enough he could pick up the ice pellets and throw them back at the boss. After a few of these the boss would have to land from all the pain. Terror Freezer would pant and Keeta would use that time to shoot a Fire Arrow into his mouth. The boss tried a few more attacks but after doing the process 6 times Zelda shot a Light Arrow at the same time Link shot a special Dark Arrow. The two opposites destroyed the boss and the final piece of the crystal appeared. They scooped it up and left the Ice Cavern. When they left their Magic Stone was rumbling. This stone was their communication to a villager, Pippin, who was more knowledgeable about the land than Talio.
“Friends,” Pippin said, “I’ve got some bad news.”

Chapter 2: The Castle on the Mountain
“So what’s the bad news?” Link asked.
“Majora has put a barrier on the Forbidden Fortress. It’s impenetrable.”
“So what do we do?” Keeta asked.
“Go to Majora’s Castle on the other side of the mountain.” Pippin answered. “Find Majora and destroy him. It won’t be easy but you’ve got to try.”
“Can you tell us about the castle?” Zelda asked.
“Yes. It’s an ancient castle that was cursed by an evil sorcerer when he was banished from it. Anyone can live in the castle but spirits usually drives him or her out. If Majora is in there he’s probably made friends with the spirits.”
With that Link put away the Magic Stone. He began to walk down the peak of the mountain to go to the one with the castle. The others followed. When they got to the other side of the mountain a giant Moblin was blocking their way. Moblins are usually big and guard sacred areas but this one was huge. When it saw the team it began attacking them with its spear. Link blocked the attack with his Mirror Shield while Keeta and Zelda shot arrows at its head. This only made the Moblin kneel. Suddenly Link got an idea. He pulled out the Extended Sword and slashed at the Moblin’s chest. The sword extended through the armor and into the Moblin’s heart. When the Moblin was defeated they were able to enter the castle.
“Geez, this place is bigger than the village.” Talio commented.
They soon learned that many areas were sealed with magic instead of locks. As they explored the unlocked rooms a big ghost popped out of the wall.
“Why are all our enemies so big?” Keeta complained.
“What are you doing here?” the ghost boomed. “Only evil may roam here. Prepare to die!”
Link changed his tunic color from the Kokiri green to the Darkness black. When he activated Tunic Abilities the Darkness Tunic allowed him to shoot a special Dark Arrow that was filled with evil. Zelda shot a Light Arrow, Keeta a Fire Arrow and Link his Dark Arrow. The power combined brought down the ghost as well as almost hitting Talio, who was flying around the ghost’s head helping them lock on the ghost.
“Hey, watch it!” Talio shouted at the same time the ghost yelled. “Alright! I’ll talk!”
“Then talk.” Keeta commanded, keeping a Fire Arrow ready in his crossbow.
“As you no doubt have noticed, the halls to the higher floors are blocked with evil magic. But what you probably haven’t noticed is the pattern on each door. Find an
Eye Switch with the same pattern and that door will unlock. Here’s a Dungeon Map. There are six floors plus a dungeon in the basement marked B1F.”
With that the ghost disappeared.
When they found the first switch, it was right above the door it opened. Zelda shot it with an arrow. As they went higher in the castle they faced more spirits and monsters. Finally on the 5th floor they faced three rooms each with the face of Zelda, Keeta or Link on the door.
“These were the challenge rooms before you could get to the throne room on the last floor. I’ll be able to fly between rooms and help you.” Talio said.
Zelda was the first Talio helped. They had to battle Majora’s Mask. Zelda tried many of her weapons but after a few minutes of dodging and trying hopeless attacks she yelled at Talio who was locking on the Mask.
“Think!” commanded Talio. “What has the power to bring down evil?”
Zelda immediately thought of a Light Arrow. It worked. Majora’s Mask fell to the floor, stunned and Zelda was able to behind it and attack. After a few more times Majora’s Mask flew through the wall and Talio followed.
***
“Empty.” Link thought. Suddenly Majora’s Mask and Talio came from the wall. Surprised, Link shot an arrow at the now transforming Mask. Majora’s Incarnation appeared. This can-caning boss was insanely fast and whenever it stopped it would shoot energy balls at Link making him hold up his shield, without a chance to attack. When Link finally got an arrow in the Incarnation’s leg he began slashing with his Extended Sword so he wouldn’t have to get that close. Incarnation and Talio flew the wall once again.
***
Keeta was almost asleep being locked up in this empty room. But being a captain of an army meant staying at attention. His military training drove all sleepiness away when two figures flew from the wall. Majora’s Wrath saw Keeta and pulled out two large whips to hit him with. Keeta deflected the attacks. The Wrath was so powerful that none of Keeta’s attacks worked.
“You idiot! Use Light Arrows!” Talio yelled.
A bit of Keeta’s fighting sprit left him. Having an origin of evil made him weak at using Light Magic despite the fact he was on the good side. But he tried. After a few seconds he managed to create a feeble Light Arrow in his crossbow. The boss was hit and the Light Magic held the boss down. During this time Keeta slashed at Wrath with his Flame Swords. The boss was gone. The three doors opened and team regrouped.
“I heard Light Magic being used.” Link said to Keeta.
“Next time I go in there give me a crash course on using Light Magic.” Keeta replied dryly.
A ladder to the 6th floor was on the wall. However only Link could touch the ladder. Link went up Talio hiding in his hat. Link entered the throne room. Majora was waiting for him.
“So Link you’ve made it to the throne room.” Majora said. “Now you must perish.”
Majora suddenly multiplied and surrounded Link.
“I can’t lock on to them!” Talio whined. “Sorry Link.”
As the Majoras began to run around Link, Link shot them with arrows, threw bombs but each time one was hit it would regenerate.
“I’ll never find the real Majora at this rate.” Link thought.
Then Link had an idea. He pulled out his Extended Sword and charged a Spin Attack. When he was ready he spun on one foot. The blade extended as he spun hitting all the Majora’s. The real one was surprised when he felt contact and went flying into the ceiling. Finally Talio locked on for Link and Link used his Hookshot to pull Majora down. Then Link slashed with his regular Sacred Sword. After doing this 6 times Majora was defeated.
Link was teleported outside of the castle where Keeta and Zelda were waiting. The Magic Stone rumbled. It was Pippin.
“Way to go. The barrier is removed. Now you can finally enter the Forbidden Fortress and defeat Ganondorf.”
“Will do.” Zelda answered.
They climbed down the mountain

Chapter 4: The Darkness Within
Once they got down from the mountain to the village Link decided they should spend some Rupees on supplies to keep up long battles in the fortress. Link and Zelda went to the village store while Keeta went the Demon Hideout to check his army. Link and Zelda had eight bottles between them. They got two Red Potions, which would restore their all their health, two Green Potions, which would restore all their magic and two Blue Potions, which would restore all health and magic.
When Keeta returned he was holding a struggling stray fairy. Link put the fairy in a bottle. This powerful, little guy would restore them to full health if they died.
“Let’s go.” Talio said.
The Forbidden Fortress was in the middle of Conco Field. Before they used the now complete Key Crystal something happened. The sky began to blacken. Darkness covered the land. But it was noon. What was going on? Talio and Keeta understood.
“Ganondorf has started the Endless Night.” Talio said.
“If we don’t stop him the darkness will allow Ganondorf to call the demons from the Dark World and bring them here.” Keeta said. “My army is not powerful enough to destroy the demons at their full power.”
Link and Zelda nodded. But how were they going to beat Ganondorf? Link’s done it on his own before but this time was different. Two humans, a small fairy and a rebel demon were going up against the most powerful evil in this land.
Link pulled out the Key Crystal and used its power to unlock the Fortress. This must be a stealth mission. They inched quietly inside. Link and Zelda put on their Shadow clothes. This allowed them to be invisible in shadows so even if someone else were around they wouldn’t notice them. There were many guards in the Fortress. One or two times a guard noticed them but Keeta silenced the guards. Finally they reached the top of the outer wall. This was a faster way to the battle planning room but it was more guarded. They slowly sneaked up on every guard and killed them. At last! They reached the hallway to the planning room. They ran (or in Talio’s case flew) at full speed. WHAM! Zelda and Keeta staggered as they whacked into an invisible barrier. Only Link and Talio could go through.
“Link only you can destroy the Demon Crystal Ganondorf has at this moment.” Zelda said.
“Remember Link, focus on destroying the crystal. We’ll deal with Ganondorf later.” Keeta reminded him.
Link looked back at his friends. He had not wanted them to come in the first place but they had insisted. So all Link said was “I’ll do my best…”
“Ditto!” said Talio.
Link Talio entered the room. Ganondorf seemed to have been expecting them.
“Well done Link. You have overcome my obstacles as usual. But this time it is my turn to defeat you in battle for I have the Demon Crystal!” Ganondorf said.
He held up the Demon Crystal. It glowed with an evil radiance. Suddenly it shot a black beam at Link. Link held up his Mirror Shield and the beams went flying into the ceiling. The fight had begun.
Link changed his tunic color from Shadow black to Zora blue. Zoras are aquatic people that have fins on their arms. Some Zoras can release these fins and shoot them like boomerangs. The Tunic Ablilty of the Zora Tunic made Link grow these fins and shoot them. Link shot them but Ganondorf dodged them. But on the way back the boomerangs knocked Ganondorf in the back of the head. He dropped the Demon Crystal. Link changed his tunic to the Kokiri green. Kokiri was forest people and the Tunic Ability allowed Link to create Forest Winds and blow objects wherever he wanted. He blew the Crystal into the air and shot a Dark Arrow at the crystal. Because the Crystal was made of Light the Crystal exploded.
But to Link’s surprise Ganondorf was not cursing in anger. Instead he pulled out a long sword and motioned Link to fight. Link ran at him with the Sacred Sword. Metal bashed against metal as Link and Ganondorf swung at each other. Link tricked Ganondorf into bashing his sword in the floor. While Ganondorf was trying to get his sword unstuck, Link slashed at him. Finally Ganondorf tried something else.
“You’ll be stuck here forever!” Ganondorf cried. “While I leave you’ll be trapped!”
Ganondorf disappeared.
“Link! We’re trapped!” Talio cried.
There was no way out. Link had to find a way out, find his friends and stop Ganondorf.

Chapter 5: Light VS. Dark
“Where’s Link?” Zelda asked. “He should have destroyed the Demon’s Crystal by now.”
Keeta and Zelda were standing outside of the Forbidden Fortress. Some guards had sneaked up on them and tossed them off the outer wall. Luckily they had fallen into the moat and swam back to Conco Field. Since Link had the Key Crystal they had no way back into the Fortress.
“Aha! I knew I’d find you Zelda!”
Keeta and Zelda spun around. Ganondorf was floating behind them.
“Where’s Link?” Keeta commanded.
“Well, well, well.” Ganondorf said. “If it isn’t my creation Keeta. What are you doing against me? Join me and we’ll knock Zelda out of this world. Just like I did to Link.”
“What!?!” Keeta and Zelda exclaimed. “We’ll get you.”
Another fight had begun. Keeta and Zelda took out their weapons and began shooting arrows. Ganondorf seemed to have demon like powers apart from his own.
Zelda was getting tired at Light Arrows and Keeta was still creating feeble Light Magics. Finally a shot got through Ganondorf’s defenses. He landed from the pain and Keeta rushed up and bashed Ganondorf with the Skull Hammer. But because Ganondorf was not human he was able to get back up in the air.
***
Link paced back and forth. Talio was bashing into walls trying to break it.
“Talio you’re just going to hurt yourself.”
“I just want to get out of here and send that no good creature straight to hell!”
“A fairy with an attitude.” Link smiled. “What will they think of next?”
Just then a ghost appeared. It was the ghost of the sorcerer who created the Demon’s Crystal and bound the demons to it. His name was Gasten. Unfortunately he died in the bounding. He had helped Link before.
“Link I’ve got some news. The crystal you destroyed was not the Demon’s Crystal. When I created the only powers I gave it was to bind and control the Demons. It couldn’t shoot the beams Ganondorf shot. He must have made a decoy crystal.
“That means that he still has the Demon Crystal!” Link said.
“Yes. I can also help you escape. Hookshot the ledge by that window.” And Gasten disappeared.
Confused Link tried it. He pulled himself up and saw that the window was to small for even Talio to get through. But Link pulled out the Lens of Truth. This pair of glasses would allow Link to see through illusions and fake stuff. The window was actually a portal. Link walked into the portal with his Sword drawn. He’d lost his shield during the fight with Ganondorf. At the end of the portal he saw that Keeta and Zelda were fighting Ganondorf. Link gave himself a running start, jumped out and Jump Attacked the surprised Ganondorf.
“Arrgh! I’ll have to use more force.”
The sky darkened even more as Ganondorf powered up. A long flash of dark light and the creature Ganon appeared. Ganon pulled out two long golden swords. Link also pulled out two Twin Swords. The battlefield was Conco Field. Ganon was surprisingly fast for his size. Each time Ganon got close to Link or Zelda he would quickly power up and slash them.
“Where’s Keeta?!” Zelda called.
“I don’t know!” Link called back.
Keeta was hiding somewhere else in the field. He took out his Trumpet of Souls and played the Summoning of Demons. This song called his army up to him.
“You called Captain?”
“Yes. Get the troops ready.” Keeta commanded. “When the demons come from the Dark World you come up too and begin to attack.”
The demon went back down through the ground and Keeta went to join Link and Zelda. Link had deflected an attack and hit Ganon. This attack destroyed Ganon’s swords. Ganon them pulled out the Demon’s Crystal and held it up high. It glowed and the ground began to tremble. Link quickly went in for an attack and slashed Ganon in his weakest spot: his tail. Ganon cried in pain and slowly sunk into the ground. As soon as Ganon was gone the demons began popping up. Link and Zelda had seen some Demon Children but these demons were bigger than Link. They glowered at the trio. One picked up the Demon’s Crystal and crushed it with between his fingers.
“It is time,” one said. “To take what should have been ours a thousand years ago. We were beaten and imprisoned by that sorcerer but now we are free.”
“We won’t let you do that!” Talio cried.
“You’ll never get your hands on this land!” Link yelled.
“Prepare for a battle you’ll lose!” Zelda finished.
“My friends only I can take them on. For look! My army has arrived!” Keeta said. As he said this Keeta’s rebel demon army popped up from the ground. Link, Zelda and Talio understood and backed off.
The Dark World demons began to shoot around Conco Field, using their powers to fly. Keeta and his army did so too. This went on for a while. The Dark demons would try to attack the village but a rebel demon would strike them down. Finally it was down to Keeta and the leader of the Dark demons. Hovering, Keeta pulled out his crossbow. The leader began charging an attack. Keeta shot an arrow. The leader was surprised at the wimpy attack and began laughing. This gave Keeta the time he needed to create a Light Arrow. He put so much energy into it that when he shot it, it exploded and shot Light beams everywhere. The remaining Dark demons cried and yelled as they were forced to retreat to the Dark World.
“They won’t be coming back for a while.” Link said.
“Yep. Their gone.” Keeta replied.
The four friends headed back to town where a party awaited.
The demons would not bother Conco again.

Chapter 6: The Dark World
The party in the village went on for a long time. Without the demons, the villagers could do whatever they wanted. But Link realized that Pippin wasn’t among all the happy villagers. “Where’s Pippin?” he asked a villager. The villagers just shrugged. All of a sudden Pippin came running up to Link holding a chessboard.
“Link, look at this.” Pippin said.
He pressed in a square on the chessboard he was holding and little figures appeared. They figures were in the shape of Link and all the Evils he had fought in Conco. The Link figure ran up to the Evils and with a slash of a sword the Evils disappeared. In the square, where the black king piece is in a chess game, a black shape stood.
“Link.” Pippin said. “I was in the prophecy room when I found this. There is also a portal down there. You should check it out.”
Link nodded, saddled up his horse and began riding toward the other end of Conco Field when he heard a small “Wait for me!” Link stopped the horse and looked back. Talio was flying after him.
“You’re not going in there without me.” He said.
Link shrugged and began riding again. When Link reached the entrance to the prophecy room he dismounted and entered. The portal took up the entire north wall.
“Let’s go in.” Link said to Talio.
They rushed into the portal and after a lot of dizzy spinning they were dropped on a strange pyramid. Link recognized it immediately because he had been here before.
“Talio.” He said. “We’re in the Dark World. This pyramid is the Pyramid of Power.”
There was still a big, bat-shaped hole in the Pyramid’s roof that Ganon had made when he tried to escape from Link a long time ago. Link dropped in, thinking that where they had to go was inside the pyramid. But he was wrong. So Link dropped to the 1st floor and left the pyramid.
The area around the pyramid had changed. Though there were still the two trees that looked like they guarded the pyramid, the east exit that led to the rest of the Dark World was blocked.
Link looked around. There were only a few one-eyed beasts around but Link defeated them easily. After finding nothing Talio flew into a tree wondering if anything was there. He found a strange knot at the top of the tree.
“Hey Link! Come here!”
Link ran over to where Talio was flying around the tree.
“Link!” Talio said. I found a strange knot in the tree!”
Link looked at the knot. He tried shooting it with an arrow but nothing happened. Next he took out a bomb and just before it was about to blow he threw it at the knot. The explosion destroyed the knot and the ground began to shake. At the base of the other tree the ground had opened, revealing a flight of stairs.
“I think that might go to where the demons hide when they’re in the Dark World.” Link said.
“Well let’s go down there and see why we were sent here.” Talio said.
They began to climb down the steps and into the hideout not knowing what lies ahead.

Chapter 7: Demon's Hideout
By now Link had reached the 7th floor. He could tell he was very close to a big battle. When he entered the last room of the 7th floor, his sword was sucked from his hands. Any equipment he took out was sucked from him too, except his shield. With this, Link remembered when he first entered Conco. He had arrived without any equipment and Pippin gave him a small shield. He had also taught Link the Shield Slash, a weak move that he could use a last resort when he had nothing available. Suddenly, a giant lizard came out of the ground. It was a Dogondo. These creatures spat fire and didn’t like it when others were in their territory. The Dogondo saw Link and began shooting fireballs.
“Why are most of the attacks down here burning hot?!?” Talio complained.
Link’s Mirror Shield helped him redirect the fire attack back at the Dogondo. If the Dogondo were hit, it would go down and be stunned. Link used this time to attack it by bashing it with his shield. After five times the Dogondo gave up and returned to the ground where it had come from. Link’s equipment fell from the ceiling in the narrow hall that led to the stairs.
“Well, we’re on the 8th floor now.” Link said. “Look at this room!”
The first room was a block puzzle. Lots of blocks were placed strategically around the room to keep an intruder guessing on how to solve it. The blocks looked like they fit into the pits at the other end of the room. Pillars also were around the room so Link could push a block into that direction and the block would slide into the pillar and stop dead in its tracks.
“This is just like the puzzle in the Ice Cavern except harder.” Talio said.
“Easy for you to say. You don’t have to push anything around.”
After a long time Link finally got the blocks to form a bridge and he ran across them. On the other side, there was a switch hidden behind a part of the wall that was sticking out. When Link hit the switch, the blocks sank into the pits and transparent platforms came down from the ceiling, replacing the blocks. The rest of the floor was easy and Link got a bit richer because a lot of the enemies were holding Rupees.
On the 9th floor Link encountered an old enemy called Façade. A giant face in the ground, Link had gone face to face with this commander of spiders and monsters many times.
“We meet once again Hero!” Façade said. “Are you following me? Everywhere I go you’re always there. You’re quite a nuisance!”
Façade had a few new moves like sticking out his tongue to try and try slapping Link with it. When this happened Link would slash at the tongue. Façade would immediately retract his tongue. Link would then throw a Bomb at Façade’s eyes. This would blind the face and he would yell. Link used this time to shoot an arrow down his throat. Façade soon gave up after too many arrows.
“To the 10th floor we go!” Link and Talio shouted after Façade had retreated.
The 10th floor was the first of the 5 big floors in the Demon’s Area. It was not only big but also challenging. A lot of the rooms were block and switch puzzles but the room in the middle of the room was the most confusing. It was a giant lake that had a lot of things inhabiting its water. Link put on his Zora Tunic on dove in. When Link reached the bottom he used his Hookshot to destroy the enemies around him. Then he rolled around on the bottom of the lake to try and avoid the enemies he couldn’t defeat. He noticed some parts of the wall stuck out. He rolled into them and they sunk into the wall, but only if he hit them in the right order. If he messed up the wall would stick out again. But he finally got the right order and an area of the wall opened up. Inside he found a ladder that led up a pipe. The pipe led to a room on the 9th floor that could be accessed by that pipe. Link stepped on the switch in the middle of the room. Four Hardhat Beetles appeared. Only long drops killed these guys. Link tricked the Beetles into going into the corner with the pipe. Link then rolled around them and hit them with his sword. It didn’t hurt them but the force of the hit knocked them down the pipe. Link did this with another set of Hardhat Beetles and then went down the pipe via the ladder. He stepped over the dead Beetles, swam up to the top of the lake and went to the steps at the other end of the room that had appeared.

Chapter 8: Down we go
The 11th floor was an easy one. Link passed through it easily. The only challenge was that a lot of Demon Horsemen guarded the last room. They circled him continuously. Link shot arrows at them and they fell off their horses. Once all had fallen off their horses, they fled. However the 12th floor was a big floor and it the entire floor was underwater. So Link put on the Zora Tunic again and went in. There weren’t very many enemies in the water but the few that were there Link couldn’t defeat. He got locked in the middle room. Ahead there were three iron gates. In the room there were four switches, three blocks and one red handle in the middle. Link analysed the situation and figured that he had to push the blocks onto the switches.
“Figured it out yet?” Talio asked.
Link could only nod underwater and Talio understood. Link pushed the nearest block onto a switch. The switch sank under the pressure and Link couldn’t pull the block off. Link then pulled the red handle and the block was lifted off the switch and returned to its original position. Link then realised that he would have to push the right blocks on the right switch. He examined the switches. They each had different symbol. He examined the blocks. On their tops they had symbols that matched a switch. So he pushed one onto a block. Again nothing happened so he pulled the red switch again. He looked at the symbols again. Suddenly he noticed that they looked the numbers 1 to 4. When he pushed them on the switches in the right order, the gates opened and a treasure chest appeared. Inside he found a Small Key.
The 13th floor had only five rooms but each room had Beamoses in them. Though he could usually destroy them by Bombs they were protected by force fields. So Link could only dodge their lasers while he tried to figure out how to open the way forward. In the first three rooms, it was simply a matter of pulling a switch. But in the last two rooms, they had puzzles. Room 4 Link had to fight two new enemies.
“Fire Child.” Talio said. “It can’t be put out with water because its flame is so hot, the water evaporates.
“What’s the other one?” Link asked, pointing to a large bird flying around at the ceiling
“Hang on.”
Link soon found out a way to defeat the Fire Child. Pulling it towards him with the Hookshot stunned it with fear and Link attacked it with his sword. The Fire Child had a solid centre and was defeated.
“I got it!” Talio shouted. “The bird is a Demi-Creaton. Its weak spot is on top of its head.
“If that’s a Demi-Creaton I’d hate to see what a Creaton is.” Link said.
Link solved the problem of laying a hit on the bird’s head. When the Demi-Creaton swooped down on him, Link would jump on its back, attack it then jump off. After a few hits it went down. In Room 5, there was a block puzzle similar to the one underwater on floor 12.
Now on the 14th floor, the number of enemies and the level of difficulty in the puzzles went up. After a few rooms, Link found a full Creaton. These were bigger, uglier birds and three heads. Link tried to attack it is if it was a Demi-Creaton, but with three heads it was impossible to tell if he was dealing any damage.
“Talio! What’s its weak spot?” Link yelled
“One of the heads has that weak spot!”
Link found that the middle head took the pain. After hitting it seven times the bird went down and stayed down. The next rooms had switch and block puzzles but Link got through them all. The 15th floor was next.

The Legend of Zelda: The Demon Crystal
Chapter 9: Getting Closer
The 15th floor turned out to be a blast from the past. Every room had a boss that he had had battled before. The first was an easy one. It was Rolling Bones, a blob thing that rolled a small but long spiked cylinder. When the Bones rolled it, Link simply jumped it. When Bones bounced across the room to try and retrieve its weapon, Link slashed at it. It was soon defeated.
The next fight was a Nightmare. It was called Deathl. It had two long arms that he swung around and he kept his eye closed most of the time. Link jumped the arms and when Deathl opened its eye Link shot his Hookshot into its eye. After each hit the arms swung faster and Link realised that he end this quickly if he used arrows instead of the Hookshot. When Deathl’s eye opened up, Link managed to shoot a few arrows into it. After this it was defeated.
Another fight was a bunch of Stalfos and Hardhat Beetles. This was a tough combo because the beetles always came towards him and the Stalfos were always attacking. Link used the Tunic Ability of his Shadow Tunic and caused a major wave of blackness. The enemies stopped in their tracks, blinded by darkness. Link used this time to destroy the Stalfos and knock the Hardhat Beetles down the holes in the corner of the room. After a few more fights, Link went down another floor.
Floor 16 was easy. Just a couple of Keese (bats) was flying around but Link shot them down. In the last room, a mixture of Ice Keese and Fire Keese were in the room. Link stayed in the entranceway of the room and shot arrows at the Keese. He missed a couple of times but he managed to bring down all of them. Link used a Small Key to open the door to the stairwell.
Floor 17 was biggie. Lava and acid infested this floor. Link had to be careful where he stepped. As he was crossing a narrow path over some lava, a Keese came swooping down at him. Link saw it too late to attack so he ducked. This caused him to almost lose his balance and his quiver slipped. All the arrows that Link had been so careful fell into the lava.
(“Oh no!” Link said. “All my arrows are gone!”
“That’s a really bad thing isn’t it?” Talio said.
“Yep. I hope I find more.”
More Keese cam down but Link shot his Hookshot at them. Though when he launched it, the Hookshot was slow at reaching its target but it was effective nonetheless. When he finished, there sort of a racing course ahead of him. A demon was there also.
“Greetings, boy.” It said. “What is your purpose in our lair?”
“We’ve come to… Um…”
“Never mind. I know. I’ll let you pass if you can beat me to the end of this hall.”
“A race?” Talio asked. “On what?”
“You use this board. The hall is slippery and these will go fast.”
Link got on the board and the demon started the race. At first, the board was hard to handle but Link quickly got used to it. The hall was long and treacherous. Many traps and long drops were around. Link had a tough time navigating and the demon was ahead. Link had to beat him. He thought of shooting the demon but he had no arrows. A sharp curve was coming up and when the demon turned, he stumbled. Link used the demon as a barrier and bounced off him to turn perfectly. As he neared the finish line the demon was closing in but Link swerved to block his path. Link won the race.
Before the demon could say or do anything, Link got off the board and raced down the stairs to the next floor. The demon followed but one slash from Link’s sword sent him retreating. Floor 18 was pretty easy and had very few enemies. Link went through without trouble.
Floor 19 was a little harder. A lot of protected Beamoses were around but there were also a lot of stray fairies that healed Link if he caught them. In the last room there was one lock puzzle. Link had to pick keys from a table and see which one fit in a lock. If he got it wrong, two Stalfos would appear and attack. Eventually Link got all or them right. He was about to enter the last floor.

The Legend of Zelda: The Demon Crystal
Chapter 11: The Secret of the Crystal
It was over. Link was falling into nothingness. He could hear Ganeath's laughs as he fell.
"Please Goddess of Courage," Link thought, "Please Farore, don't let end this way."
As a last resort, Link shot his Hookshot towards the pit's opening. The chain was caught by somebdoy! Link was pulled up by Skull Keeta.
"Knew you couldn't handle it without me." he replied.
Link smiled and saw that Keeta had brought his army with him. Ganeath and his minions were shocked by the sudden appearence, but the shock soon wore off. The army's number had doubled. Still, Link, Keeta and Keeta'S armt were outnumbered.
"Let's finish this" Ganeath roared.
"Yes! Let's!" Keeta shouted back.
Everyone rushed at the opposing army, and the air were filled with cries of the fallen and of the triumphant. But Ganeath was attacking with large masses of energy, making the good side have to move to a defensive position. The minions took no time in taking advantage of this turn of events. Pretty soon, Keeta's army had gone down in numbers.
The war raged on. It seemed that for everyone minion that went down, another one took his place. Link drained his magic with repeatedly using the Hurricane Blade Technique, but the result was great. Pretty soon, Link and Keeta had only Ganeath and a few minions left.
"NO!" Ganeath screamed. "It will not end this way!"
Before he could duplicate his remaining minions, Link and Keeta cut them down. Link pointed his sword at Ganeath.
"You're next." he said.
Ganeath was a tough foe to bring down. His only weak spot was his mouth, and he kept that closed most of the time. When Ganeath opened it, Link threw Bombs and shot Light Arrows (if he had any Arrows) into his mouth. At long last Ganeath fell over. Keeta ran up to him and threw the Demon Crystal into his mouth.
"Run, Link, RUN!"
Keeta grabbed Link and made an escape. The ran to the entrance, but it was closing and they were still far away. Keeta grabbed Link and violently threw him towards the door.
"Keeta, NO!" Link tried to go back for Keeta, but the entrance slammed shut. He heard a giant explosion. Keeta had sacrificed his life to save his.
"Keeta... Keeta...." Link said weakly. He sat down and leaned against the door. They had defeated Ganeath, but did the price have to be a loss of a friend?
Link and Talio left the Demon's Hideout and returned to the village. The people cheered when they saw him, but they stopped when they saw the saddened look on his face.
Zelda came rushing up to him. "Link! What's wrong?"
"Skull Keeta. He.... He..... He's dead." Link replied.
"Dead?"
Link told everybody what had happened down there.
Zelda told Link what Keeta had done before he left.
"He found the shards of the Demon Crystal and he put them together. Then he went off."
"Conco is at peace now." Pippin said.
Link jumped. He hadn't heard Pippin come up behind him.
"The demons are gone and we are safe. However, we are greatly saddened by the death of Skull Keeta."
Another voice came up. It was Keeta's right hand man, the sole survivor of his army.
"Excuse me sir." it said. "But the captain would wanted to go that way. To go down fighting. He was the bravest to the end."
Link smiled. Keeta was still there, in spirit. He knew that.
"Keeta can be brought back." the demon said. "But, it can't be now.
***
A funeral was held in honour of Skull Keeta. The entire village was there for him. After the eulogy, Link noticed that the chessboard that Pippin had found was sitting on a pillar in the town square. The "king" was still there. Link pulled out his sword and cut the piece clean in half. That "king" had been the cause of all this. The village watched Link.
"Checkmate." Link said.
